Gpoyw: happy hour edition. Last Friday night we braved the cold Chicago weather for a night with friends. We went from bar to bar trying to find a spot where drinks were served (easy) and a company holiday party wasn’t happening (difficult).
After some serious strike outs we finally went to Blackfinn. It was awesome. You know those last minute lets go out nights that typically are the best? This was one of them.
Season after season I have been spending money on black boots. As chi town commuters know the winter is tough on your shoes. You need something durable and buying every winter just gets old. So finally I invested in Frye boots.
For the longest time, I never thought I would spend this much on boots. I never thought it was worth it. Recently, I changed my opinion. I decided to treat myself to boots that will last for a long time. I shopped around and did serious research and finally decided on the Frye brand.
I honestly could not be happier with my choice. While buying quality items kills the wallet it truly is worth it. I feel like my feet are more supported and….. stylish!
So if you are like how I was and was constantly buying and getting rid of boots every season- maybe take a look and think about investing a little bit more.
This is a post…about boots.

Smile Friday- scenes from a wonderful getaway to Cozumel, Mexico. Cheers to the weekend and working hard so that we can go on another vacation! :)
Hello all! I’m back from my (unannounced whoops!) trip to Cozumel! It was absolute magic. We took advantage of our seven days with every excursion possible! It was a long over due trip filled with promises of more to come. The photo above is one of my favorites I have from our getaway. We rode around the island (through major puddles of liquified limestone) with our friends to a tequila factory, light house, Mayan ruins, beach to snorkel and so much more. It was a beautiful place.
On Saturday, my family and I attended the wedding ceremony of a close family friend in the city. The beautiful nuptials began at Holy Name Cathedral and ended at The Blackstone Hotel.
The wedding was gorgeous. And I know I say that all the time. I love weddings! But this venue was an absolute fairy tale. The decor at the Blackstone Hotel was all white with crystal. I felt like I was in a wonder wonderland. It was gorgeous.
All of my photos from the night consist of closed eyes, side eyes, a drink in your hand, dance moves that need to never be brought out & huge smiles. We had an awesome time- from what we can remember.
